Believe it or not MAG, it is time to start thinking about our end of year celebrations. For our Middle School breakup we will be doing 2 activities, one activity has already been decided, we are off to the Splash Park. The second activity is up to you…would you like to go tenpin bowling or to the cinema?

This semester MAG have been focusing on writing information reports about different animals. On Monday 25th July, we will be having our very first Big Write session. The Big Write focuses on explicitly introducing students to the four main areas of writing: vocabulary, punctuation, openers and connectives. To help students prepare for the Big Write we would like you to find some time to talk with your child about the Big Write topic. This talk is important because it allows students to process ideas and start putting sentences together; if they can’t say it, they can’t write it. The Big Write is a fun way for students to show what they know about information report writing in a relaxed and stimulating atmosphere.
Below is a video to help you with how to chat with your child about the Big Write topic. While you’re talking, your child may like to jot down their ideas/notes (not the whole report!) and bring these in with them on Monday to help with their planning.
Today in MAG we celebrated National Simultaneous Story Time. With our buddies in JMW we listened to the Australian story ‘I Got This Hat’. The story is about a character that wears many different hats such as a miner’s hat, mexican hat, eskimo’s hat and a pilot’s hat. After we listened to the story we created our very own hat using recycled newspaper. Here is a photo of our fantastic hats.
Today in Paddock to Plate, Will and Seth collected the eggs. The chickens laid 5 eggs in total. Seth and Will went into the kitchen, popped the date on each of the eggs and put them safely in the fridge to use when we are cooking.
Welcome to the MAG blog! On this blog family and friends will be able to keep track of the things that we do in our classroom. Our classroom is made up of 22 awesome students and an even cooler teacher.
Today in Paddock to Plate we celebrated Easter by making our very own chocolate and hot cross scones. The chocolate was made from cacao powder and cacao butter, a healthier option compared to the chocolate you buy from the supermarket.
